Windows Azure Platform: July 14th Links
July 14, 2011 Leave a comment
It has been a little while since my last link listing post for Windows Azure. Here are some resources that caught my attention over the last several weeks:
- Windows Azure News from WPC: The Worldwide Partner Conference was taking place in Los Angeles this week and here is a post talking about some of the announcements related to the cloud.
- Free Inbound Data Transfer Starting in July: Windows Azure has updated its pricing policy to allow for free ingress to encourage the moving of data to the cloud. Great new benefit!
- Windows Azure Deployments and the Virtual IP Address: The question around how IPs are handled comes up a lot and here is a blog post that explains the Virtual IP in Windows Azure.
- Windows Azure CDN Helpers: An open-source project on Codeplex with helper classes for using CDN within your projects.
- Windows Azure Accelerator for Web Roles: A great new accelerator to enable using Web Deploy to deploy websites to instances in Windows Azure.
- NoSQL and the Windows Azure Platform WhitePaper: A great whitepaper, referenced in this blog post, around NoSQL technologies and options in Windows Azure.
- WIF Configuration Techniques with Azure: A great post about how to set up your Azure web application using WIF (“Windows Identify Foundation”) in order to be able to update your configuration settings without redeploying.
- Windows Azure Team Blog – Consolidated: Several individual blogs around Windows Azure, AppFabric, and the Marketplace have been consolidated into one team blog to follow.
Happy reading….
